The area around present day Jacksonville Beach was first settled by Spanish settlers. Spanish missions were established from Mayport to St. Augustime. Spain ceded Florida to Great Britain by treaty in 1763 only to have Spain reain it again and then a final time in 1821 to the United States. American river pilots and fishermen came to Hazard present day Mayport and established a port. In general the architecture of Jacksonville varies in style and is not defined by any one characteristic and Jacksonville Beach is no exception designed by Marsh and Saxelbye and completed in 1925 Case Marina Hotel is a Mission style hotel popular in the 1920s when Jacksonville's beaches were being developep. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 2, 1993. Constructed in 1947 the American Red Cross Volunter Life Saving Corps Station is an Art Moderne style lifeguard station designed by local architect Jefferson Davis powell. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 5,2014.

Cronulla is a popular tourist attractions and attracts many beachgoers from all over Sydney. Cronulla Beach features a long stretch of sand that runs from Boat Harbour to North Cronulla followed by rock pools and another sandy beach at South Cronulla. Popular Palace is the largest cliff dwelling in Mesa Verde National Park. A severe drought from 1130 to 1180 led to rapid depopulation in many parts of the San Juan Basin particularly at Chaco Canyon. As the extensive Chcoan system collapsed people increasingly migrated to Mesa Verde causing major population growth in the area. This led to much larger settlements of six to eight hundred people which reduced mobility for Mesa Vdeans who had in the past frequently relocated their dwellings and fields as part of their agriculture strategy. In order to sustain these larger population they dedicated more and more of their labor to farming. Population increases also led to expanded tree felling that reduced habitt for many wild plant and animal spevies that the Mesa Verdeans had relied on further deepening their dependency on domesticated crops that were susceptible to drought related failure.

Tourist attractions in Malabar, New South Wales

The western section of the headland was transferred from the Commonwealth to the New Government on 2 March 2012. This 17.7 hectare area contains remnants of the Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub eucalypt woodlands and coastal health land that now form part of a National Park. The (Gillard Rudd) Labor Commonwelth Government had planned to convert the remainder of the headland to a National Park after relocating the rifle range and completing work to make the area for public use. However the NSW Rifle Association defeated the Commonwealth Government in court scuttling the plans. A report submitted to the Abbott government in January 2015 recommended selling of the land for development but the plam met community outrage and was swiftly refuted by the Commonwealth Government in March 2015 plans to commit more of the headland to National Park and to return the horses were announced The future of the remainder of Malabar Headland remains uncertain. The rifle range on the Malabar headland was originally known as the Long Bay Rifle Range there is a long history of the site being used as a range dating back to when recreational and militia shooting first commenced on this site in the 1850s which contributed to local security.

Popular Collaroy Beach, New South Wales

Collaroy Narrabeen is frequented by diverse bird and aquatic animal life including Sea Eagles Pelicans Terns Ducks Yellow crested Cockato. Dolphins and whales can be seen during migrating season. In 2005 a young New Zealand Fur Seal was discovered washed up on the beach. Exhausted but alive the Seal was nursed back to health by wildlife officers and then released. A similar incident with another New Zealand fur seal coming ashore occurred in August 2014.

Palm Beach, New South Wales, Sydney

Palm beach is bounded by Broken Bay to the north the Tasman Sea (within the South Pacific Ocean) to the east Whale Beach Avalon and Clareville to the south and Pittwater to the west. Barrenjoey Headland which is in the north of the suburb is part of Kuring gai Chase NationalPark. The headland at the northernmost point rises quite sharply from the beach to over 100 metres (330 ft) above sea level and features an operational lighthouse. The narrow sandy isthmus or tombolo linking the south side of the headland to the rest of Palm Beach had extensive fencing and shrub planting undertaken during the 1980s to combat sand erosion.

Barrenjoey Road provides access by bus or car. Bus routes servicing Palm Beach are operated by State Transit. Routes 190 and L90 go to from city Railway Square.

Nielsen Park, Australia

Nielsen Park is a highly modified landscape that reflects three phases of occupation pre settlement landscape a modified landscape seen as both a natural and planned picturesque landscapearound Greycliffe House and a public landscape for recreation that includes a number of support structures. In addition the Steel Point fortifications add a further layer to the use and appearance of  the park. Nielsen Park has had its pre settlement landscape dramatically altered by extensive clearing and modifying of landforms and vegetation but also by replanting and regenerating a form of natural bushland on recent years of the overall impression that areas of the landscape appear similar to that which existed prior to European settlement. However the areas of nativ vegetation that now exist do not reflect the form of the historic native landscape has taken place during the NPWS management of the site and contrasts to the Trust management that focused on the recreational aspects of the place.

Coffee shop : The coffee shop at Volcano House offers a volcanic menu. The menu for example contains geothermally grown Icelandic vegetables and geotherally baked rye bread. The food served at the coffee shop is cooked with barley and cold pressed organic rape seed oil grown in the regions around Eyjafjallajokull. The coffee at Volcano House coffee shop is brewed from beans grown in the volcanic hills of Guatemala and a pece of chocolate lava is served with the coffee.
Design: The interior design of the exhibition is meant to look like it's from 1973 which is the year when the volcanic eruption in Heimaey in the Westman Islands occurred.

Exhibition: A brief synopsis of Iceland's geological history and volcanic system are displayed in the Volcano House together with photographs of the volcanic eruptions and other aspects of Icelandic nature. Volcano House offers a hands o geology exhibition where guests can handle various samples of pumice ash and lava from Icelandic volcanoes for example ash from Eyjafjallajokull and Grimsvoth and pumice from Hekla. A collection of semi precious rocks and minerals from around the country are also on display and are available for purhase. Rocks on display are for example Jaspis Opal Obsidian Rock crystal and Iceland spar. Volcano House offers guidance and information throughout the exhibit.

Stanley park

Opening and dedication: Stanley Monument unveiled 19 May 1960  dedicating the park to the use and enjoyment of people of all colours and creeds and customs for all time. On September 27, 1888 the park was officially opened (although the legal status of Deadman's Island as part of the park would remain ambiguous for many years).

The park was named after Lord Stanley who had recently become Canada's sixth governor general (and who is perhaps best known today for having donated the Stanley Cup that was later hunded down to the National Hockey League). Mayor David Oppenheimer gave a formel the park to the public and delivering authority for its management to the park committee. The following year Lord Stanley became the first governor general to visit British Columbia when he officially dedicated the park. Mayor Oppenheimer led a procession of vehicles around Brockton Point along the newly completed Park Road to the clearing at Prospect Point. An observer at the event wrote: Lord Stanley threw his arms to the heavens as though embracing within them the whole of 1,000 acres [400 ha] of primeval forest and dedicated it to the use and enjoyment of peoples of all colours creeds and customs for all time. I name the Stanley Stanley Park.

Popular Granville Island

 History: The peninsula was originally used by First Nations as a fishing area. North west Granville Island in 1922. Many of the buildings shown here are still standing as of 2006. The city of Vancouver was called Granville until it was renamed in 1886 but the former name was kept and given to Granville Street which spanned the small inlet known as False Creek. False Creek in the late 19th century was more than twice today's size and its tidal flats included a large permanent sandbar over which spanned the original rickety wooden Granville Street bridge. This sandbar which would eventually become Granville Island was first mapped by Captain George Henry Richards in the British Boundary Commission's naval expdition in 1858-59 and the island today conforms roughly to the size and shape documented
at that time.
