The area around present day Jacksonville Beach was first settled by Spanish settlers. Spanish missions were established from Mayport to St. Augustime. Spain ceded Florida to Great Britain by treaty in 1763 only to have Spain reain it again and then a final time in 1821 to the United States. American river pilots and fishermen came to Hazard present day Mayport and established a port. In general the architecture of Jacksonville varies in style and is not defined by any one characteristic and Jacksonville Beach is no exception designed by Marsh and Saxelbye and completed in 1925 Case Marina Hotel is a Mission style hotel popular in the 1920s when Jacksonville's beaches were being developep. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 2, 1993. Constructed in 1947 the American Red Cross Volunter Life Saving Corps Station is an Art Moderne style lifeguard station designed by local architect Jefferson Davis powell. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 5,2014.

Tourist attractions in Cronulla, New South Wales, Sydney
Cronulla is a popular tourist attractions and attracts many beachgoers from all over Sydney. Cronulla Beach features a long stretch of sand that runs from Boat Harbour to North Cronulla followed by rock pools and another sandy beach at South Cronulla. The beaches of Cronulla from north to south are Boat Harbour Wanda Beach Elouera Beach North Cronulla Beach Cronulla Beach Blackwoods Beach Shelly Beach and Oak Park. Local names also apply between Cronulla Beach and North Cronulla The Wall between North Cronulla and Elouera Midway between Elouera and anda and Greenhills to the north of Wanda Sandshoes near the mouth of the Port Hacking estuary voodoo Reef and The Point. The beaches are popular recreational areas for swimming surfing bodyboarding bodysurfing and other water sports. Shark Island just off Cronulla Beach is a Famous surfing and bodyboarding spot and the site of the annual Shark Island Challenge bodyboarding contest. Gunnamatta Bay provides protected swimming at the baths off Gunnamatta Park. Port Hacking is a popular location for water sports waterskiing and wakeboarding.
